When we hear about serial killers, we don’t want to think that they are among us. We imagine them as people we see on television, but sometimes they live in the same neighborhood with us and sometimes we have no idea. This is the case of Karla Homolka, who is apparently living in Quebec after spending her sentence as a serial killer.
Lori, the sister of Karla, realized how dangerous her sister could be, and recently she confessed that Karla has been living in Quebec since 2014 after changing her name. She has enrolled her children in a local school. During the trial of Luka Magnotta Karla’s new name was revealed and instantly the city was filled with parents angry and worried for their children. How can they protect them against dangerous offenders?
Although Karla should spend many years in jail, she managed to avoid the punishment by making a deal with the prosecutors. This gave her the chance to live a normal life, but she did not expect to see her past revealed so quickly.
Now, parents in Quebec are sending letters to the school where their children are attending. When they heard that their children are attending with Karla’s children, they asked the Principal to move them to somewhere else or they would remove their own children. Although the Principal tried to calm them down by saying that Karla is not having contact with any of the students, the parents did not seem too satisfied with his answer.
