What is Trump's stance on combating terrorism?

Donald Trump remains the most polarizing and flagrant political figure possibly in the history of politics, and has continued to do no different. When it comes to combating terrorism, these traits continue to further manifest. Trump was quoted in 2015 saying “The other thing with the terrorists is you have to take out their families. When you get these terrorists, you have to take out their families. They care about their lives, don’t kid yourself. When they say they don’t care about their lives, you have to take out their families.”

Along with this, Trump has stated “People are dead. A lot of people are dead right now.” “So, everybody wants to be politically correct, and that’s part of the problem we have with our country.” The Donald has always kept an abrasive take and mindset on most conflictive issues, and with this quote, reveals that tenfold for the issue of combating ISIS, which he feels has not been done in a ruthless enough manner. Trump has also stated “What’s too far? What’s too far? They’re killing people.”

While his opinions remain controversial and crass, a truth to the statements might be there. What other possibilities can be exercised when a threat no longer cares for their own people, or even life? Though most answers to this would most likely be less aggressive and absolute, it is obvious that some amount of the American public feels the same. As Trump continues bounding from victory to victory, this shared opinion has become increasingly apparent, to the fear of many, and the frustration of others, but likewise the joy of a surprising number as well.
